In January 2021 I decided to start a YouTube channel. I had a topic I was passionate about and a steady job to support my YouTube adventures. The goal was to start documenting a hobby I was already investing my time in.
I bought all the gear one would need, and then some. In February of the same year I began preparing my first series of videos.
Everything was in place.
And yet, two years later, in December 2022 my channel has 0 views and 0 subscribers.
The reason is obvious. I never uploaded a single video. I spent weeks and months perfecting my craft. Reading and re-reading source materials, choosing and re-choosing topics to shoot. Editing and re-editing videos only to scrap them completely a few weeks later.
I wanted my channel launch to be perfect — no compromises could be made — and the result, a two-year old channel without a single video, viewer, or subscriber; but a lot of disappointment.
So I have decided to launch the channel no matter what, regardless the perceived poor quality, regardless my poor videography skills, regardless, the bad thumbnail design, and regardless the poor topic choice.
So here we go. I am ready to launch.
It just needs one more polish before the first video is launched next week…
